The Bachelorette 8

I've been waiting to do a little postaroo on this season of the Bachelorette because honestly, I have too many thoughts. I have to wait until there are only a few people left. You're welcome.

But first, I have a big girl crush on Emily Maynard. Not only is she just ridiculously smokin' hot:

...she seems pretty down to earth, grounded and knows what she wants. Despite the absurd fairy tale that is being on the show, she mostly exists in the real world... I think:

I love her. More than is healthy.

As for the men, where do I start? Here's who's left and my thoughts..

Arie
I think he's a major frontrunner, my current pick for the last man standing. He seems nice and genuinely interested in her happiness. No complaints here (a very rare thing).

Chris
I don't think he's her soulmate. She seems pretty smitten with him though. She called him out as one of the cutest on the very first night. I think he's sweet, but a little awkward... and not a Southerner, which is something I think she needs.

Doug
I'm not into him. I think he comes in too hot with the "I'm a mature single father" shtick. His only defense is that he has big muscles and a kid. Kind of a big dumb animal I think.

Jef
Swoon city. He's by far my favorite, but I don't think her perfect match. He's too hipster and awesome for her. He has too good of taste and is way too good of a skateboarder. Again... swoon city.

John
Boring. Nothing to say except, what in the hell is a "Data Deconstruction Specialist"? He is cute though.

Sean
Cute. Nice. Her friends loved him. A Texan. I'm rooting for this one.

This season has been packed with twists. Last night she sent home 2 people and then just opted out of a rose ceremony altogether. Cah-RAZY! I'm freaking psyched for more. Next week they'll be in Prague!

What are you internet friends thinking of the season so far? Tell me you aren't above the Bachelorette? If you're reading this blog, I know you aren't.

Happy Friday everyone! Brace yourself for lots of random B.S. in this post., which is actually my favorite kind...

1. Hello. Today I have some rhyming wine-related news. YES.

This a wine Wine DRESS:
It's made ENTIRELY out of wine and natural, non-dangerous bacteria. It's one whole piece and is totally seamless. Why is the scientist that had the time/desire/curiosity for this? I need to meet him.

... and this is wine CHESS:
I think I just found a great new way to class up our biweekly girls nights...

(we do important things here at Poodleism. Didn't you know?)

2. You are your shoes. It's science, trust me. In a new study, participants were shown more than 200 pairs of shoes and were asked to guess the owner's gender, age, social status and different personality traits for each pair. Interesting. Read more about the findings here, but generally they found that people rarely choose shoes that portray traits different than their personality. In fact, you can judge 90% of someone's personality traits just by looking at their shoes! Crazy! For me, I'm semi lazy, thoroughly enjoy comfort and try to be  a little trendy want to give poor kids stuff . These are my current footwear obsession:

Interesting.

3. OctoMILF. That's at thing. It's a word that means "the Octomom is doing porn now."

Yes it's true. Sad, but true. The only reason I bring this to your attention is that I get copious chuckles out of her porn name being "OctoMILF." That's a pretty genius aspect of a pretty awful thing. What's a word that means "tiny bit of hilarity in a giant pile of depressing"?

4. Dogs even get sad when strangers cry. A new study out of the University of London shows that dogs feel empathy toward any human crying -- not just their owners. They used 18 dogs of different breeds and ages. They exposed the dogs to people crying, singing and talking. They found that more dogs reacted to the crying than the singing and didn't react to the talking at all. They approached, looked at or nuzzled the cryers far more than the other people. I have some thoughts... first of all, dogs really are the best, as if you didn't already know. Mine could be the best of the best:

(totally gratuitous Prince reference)

Secondly, why didn't they react to the talking? Should I stop discussing politics, my love life and the Bachelorette with the Prince baby? Is he not listening? I refuse to believe it. Whatever. Dogs are the best.

5. House Hunters is FAKE!

According to multiple reports, the show is total B.S. They apparently only choose subjects who have closed on a home. So, the entire deliberation process, the pros/cons and the other house options are all fake. It's completely acted. Read more here. Also, the houses they tour as possible options aren't even for sale! They are often just friends' houses nearby! What the hell? We all know reality TV isn't real at all, but this one? Come on people, not my House Hunters. This fakeness better not apply to House Hunters International. It probably does, but I won't be able to quit that one, so I'm going to just pretend its real.

6. Joey Lawrence is in Chippendales. WHOA! Yep, you read that right. Joey Lawrence is a semi stripper. Who knew he had this bod?

Is he that washed up? Or that vain? Is it wrong that I'm really interested in this? He'll be performing at a limited engagement at the Rio in Vegas this summer. Get your tickets now. WHOA!

Have a wonderful weekend! I'll be exploring sweet (BF's) home Alabama! Beer me strength.

Currently

Fun little link up today from a favorite bloggy friend and fellow Austinite...

It's all about what I'm into right now:

current book(s)
Yep, I'm on the bandwagon. Just started and LOVING it.

current playlist
They're not exactly new news, but I cannot get enough of Monsters and Men these days. I'm going to see them at a festival in July and am pumped!

current color
Its VERY RARE that I don't have my nails painted. I hate it. I'm going for a special treat mani/pedi at lunch today... I can't even show you naked nails.

current food
 breakfast of champions

current favorite show(s)
Emily Maynard is the g-d cutest thing of my life. Addicted.

current needs
I officially have the puppy bug. Me needs an apricot poodle baby like NOW.

current banes of my existence
The summer is here. Not officially, but for all intensive purposes it is. It's hot in Texas, y'all. UGH.

current celebrity crush
I'm still kind of reeling from Mad Men's Sunday's finale and have a larger-than-normal appetite for more. I had mixed feelings about the season as a whole, but one thing is for certain: Don Draper never goes out of style.

current #1 blessing
It's a three way tie.

current indulgence
I love the shiz out of these things. Always have. Lately I've been on a kick of buying them whenever I see them... TERRIBLE HABIT.

current outfit
I'm sorry you had to see that. I work from home. It's still the a.m., so I'm still in my jammies. Duh.

current excitement
Tonight I'm headed to for my first ever trip to Alabama for a wedding with my new-ish squeeze. I'm freaking.

current mood
I'm a little overwhelmed about preparing for aforementioned trip. I'm leaving straight after work. I still have packing to do, nails to polish, poodles to cuddle and nerves to calm. EEEEK.

current favorite quote or verse
I'm working on getting some new hobbies. I'm in a bit of a creativity lull (have you noticed?). Gotta find something good to take my brain over...

current wishlist item
.... like I said, I'm kind of fixated on this right now. Thanks alot, puppy babysitee.

current favorite product(s)
I feel like a pretty big square for putting up cleaning stuff, but I cannot get enough of Mrs. Meyer's Lavender scent. I've got the candle, hand soap, laundry detergent and bathroom cleaner. It's real lavendery up in my crib right now.

That's all folks! If you know of any poodle babies that need a good home, I'm apparently your girl.
